I was highly obliged to be offered to walk the ramp in the capacity of Mrs. India International 2012 as show stopper for the BAGA Fashion show. The fashion show was themed “Elements” and presented four important elements of life Earth, Water, Fire and Air. It was unique as it was not just a fashion show but was a combination of dance performances depicting each element followed by models walking the ramp dressed to portray that element.
The fashion show brought to the audience the power of mother nature by depicting
these important elements of life in different creative ways. While the powerful
classical Indian dances captured audience attention and brought their mind frame
to a particular element, the models then strengthened these elements by walking
the ramp with confidence and elegance in their beautifully created outfits
matching the theme.
Adhering to my Mrs. India International 2012 platform of “Preserving Family
Values” and of which, the most important of all for Indo-American families like
ours, to maintain our rich culture, heritage and our language while adapting to
the land of our residence. Under my title ship, it is always my pleasure to be
involved with groups and organizations that work towards bringing Indian
families under one roof where they can mingle and celebrate the festivities
together while exposing our tradition to the next generations.
I would like to thank Mr Abir Thakurta, President of BAGA, Bengali Association
of Greater Atlanta for giving me this opportunity.
I enjoyed meeting the
graceful and elegant ladies whose tremendous efforts and creativity made this
fashion show a grand success.
